who we are

  • cyclesguff are a loose collective that share a love of cycling. We've ridden several organised events, but also enjoy the simplicity of just getting out on the bike.

favourite routes

  • Glasgow sits in a basin surrounded by hills to south, north and west so we need to climb a wee bit to get out of the city
  • Mugdock (to the North of Glasgow) and surrounding area is a haven for a variety of singletrack. Some of the trails appear to be closely guarded secrets and have spooky names like 'voodoo'. Others are more spooky due to the danger element, 'cliff top' says it all.
  • Renfrewshire. South to Paisley and over the Gleniffer Braes to Lugton, then Dunlop on to Stewarton left into minor roads past Harelaw dam turn right onto Neilston Road and right just before Neilston, left at top of hill and descend into Barrhead and return via Pollok. 42miles medium lumpy run on quiet roads once clear of Paisley. Can be shortened by coming straight back from Dunlop for some stamina building short intense climbs
  • Tak and the Crow. North through Milngavie and old road to Mugdock taking a right over to Bardowie Road and onto Torrance, through Kirkintilloch to Auchenstarry quarry at bottom of Kilsyth before meeting Tak ma Doon, left through Carron Valley (almost always a headwind) and left onto the Crow Road and back to Glasgow via Strathblane. 58m with plenty climbing especially on the tricky gradients of the Tak
