nice 80

A long run on the cards today and Pete, Craig and Peter set off from the City Centre heading west then north to Mugdock, east to Torrance and on to Kilsyth and the Tak ma Doon. All into a fierce easterly which made the all to brief run through the Carron Valley a delight before we took a right at the end of the reservoir back towards Stirling. The road was a new feature for us and proved to be well chosen with a good scramble up towards Cambusbarron into aforesaid windy stuff. We were treated to lingering views of the Stirling plains before the route turned round left onto the main road to Kippen where, after a brief stop, we climbed to the Top O' the World and onto the Crow. A wee nip up the old Mugdock Road, plunge down into Milngavie and a final encounter with the wind and we were home in 80 miles and the small matter of around 1750m of climbing. Caught the sun too.

the start is when you clip in....

...well helvetica has been chosen and I'm sitting enjoying one of Routemaster General's fine tipples, a Benrinnes Provenance 12yr old. Not a normal place to start a cycle blog, but we do take electrolytes before hand.

Anyway, welcome to cyclesguff, a merry band of riders who travel the roads and trails sourcing stories and recounting those from before.

Stay upright,

The riders
